The financial crisis trickles down to the real economy

The worldwide financial crisis has come to roost and is slowly but surely spreading throughout the real economy. Although unquestionably a catastrophe for families who have lost their homes through no fault of their own, for the economy as a whole it is still just a crisis, not yet a disaster. Even though many companies have had no revise growth plans, they are better prepared to weather the storm than was the case during the last crunch, at the turn of the millennium. Firms have gotten the upper hand on costs and have updated their products.
